Our Story

Renata’s Kitchen has been serving University City and West Philadelphia since 2012. What started as a neighborhood Mediterranean café has grown into West Philly’s go-to spot for vibrant brunch, bold, flavor-forward dinner, and the area’s most popular happy hours.

We focus on house-made spreads, grilled flatbreads, seasonal vegetables, fresh seafood, and shareable mezze designed to bring people together. From weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas to late-night half-price margaritas, Renata’s is built for gathering.

Located in the heart of University City near Penn and Drexel, we’re proud to be part of a community that values great food, warm hospitality, and a lively neighborhood energy.

Renata’s Kitchen is woman-led and family-owned. We’re led by a hands-on leadership team: in the kitchen, on the floor, and at events , shaping everything from the menu to the guest experience. We’re not a corporate restaurant group. We’re here every day.

Yasser

As Executive Chef, Yasser leads the kitchen with a focus on seasonal ingredients, bold Mediterranean flavors, and consistency at every service. From menu development to the final plate, he sets the culinary direction for Renata’s. You’ll find him in the kitchen most days, tasting, adjusting, and mentoring the team.

Kate oversees catering, events, and the guest experience. With a background in science and a deep love for hospitality, she brings structure to operations and warmth to every interaction. From university catering to private celebrations, she ensures every event feels thoughtful and personal.

Ficca curates the bar program, from seasonal cocktails to late-night margaritas. With creativity and balance at the forefront, they help shape the lively, welcoming energy of Renata’s happy hour and dinner service.

Tyler

Tyler is the point person for private events and catering logistics. From first inquiry to event day, he keeps communication clear and details tight so clients can relax and enjoy their gathering.
